Tyre prices - online vs. local

Try these for some good prices too http://www.tyre-shopper.co.uk/

Registration checker got the car right but the tyre size completely wrong......

followed by not even listing Goodyear Eagle F1s.

They do however have the tyres for the Golf I have just paid £110 for for £102 which would be fitted by my local National Tyres centre.

For the convenience, I'd go with Event, same supplier same fitter, no delivery confusion, no managing fitting to be after delivery etc, just my opinon.

Imagine the situation fitter damages wheel - who are you claiming from - tyre supplier who you paid for fitting or the centre you actually had the fitting done at? We know the correct answer, but imagine how tricky it COULD get.

If price is everything, they sure are good prices.

It got my tyre size right and even a list of sizes for optional wheels. It didn't list the Goodyear F1 for me either, but the Primacy HP I paid £125 a tyre for were listed at £111 fitted.

The situation you mention is going to be no different than with mytyres, blackcircles or etyres.

I haven't checked out the event tyre prices yet, but will be sure to.

Quite, why I think Event Tyres does stand out from the crowd a little.

I just put 2 new tyres on my car.I went to kwik fit for a price on Michelin - 225/45 R17 Pilot Primacy and was told that they cant get them anymore and my best option was to have the Michelin Pilot Sport 2 PS2 at a cost of £263 including the discount they have on at the moment.(should have cost £311 for the pair).:( I went home afterwards.
So armed with this info that they are not available any more I rang someone else local to me and just asked how much for 2 tyres and gave the size. They then said to my amazement they can supply me with 2 pilot primacys for £105 each fitted   We haven't got any in stock yet but if you make your way down to us we should have them here for you as the place we have them from is only a mile or so down the road.So kwik fit you can keep your expensive tyres Ive found somewhere better:bannana:

Just on the point of fitting new tyres, I always give the guy a £5 to fit a new rim protector when fitting new tyres, it just saves all of the hassle of have the wheel damaged

I dont blame you.I watched them fit my tyres. Its no wonder alloys get damaged around the edges and start corroding for no apparent reason 6 months later. When they took the old tyre off the first bead was done with the machine,no metal parts touching the wheel, come to take off the second bead that removes the tyre completly off the wheel there was a huge tyre iron involved with the edge of the wheel used as a pivot point:eek: .Im just glad I left refurbing my front wheels till I had my new tyres on.

Michelin Pilot Primacys have been discontinued in some sizes and replaced by the Michelin Energy E3A. Which would explain why the big stockholders wouldn't have them but smaller outfits would have them at good prices

Another alternative would be a tyre I saw recently on a car on eBay. I've not seen it before - a Michelin Pilot Piracy...
