Updated Navigation CD - 2001 CL

Hi all,

I need a little more help please. After taking on board all your advice, I have just purchased 2001 a CL600, which I pick up at the end of the week - can't wait!!

I believe it has an old navigation CD, and was wondering will any newer Mercedes navigation CD work, as I have seen a couple on ebay, such as this one:

I don't think the one you were looking at will work!

PS I might have 2005 disc in my study (if I can find it), which you can have for free

Thanks very much, that is very useful. The navigation system in the CL looks the same as yours.

All these discs seem the same to us novices !

You might want the COMAND 2.5 firmware update

You can/should be able to get it from MB dealer, if not.......
Download the MB Comand update CD MY01

If your COMAND shows the MB STAR logo on start up, then you have it already.

I've seen a cd for sale saying its comptable with.
COMMAN DX/COMMAND APS in: C-Class (07.99-11.04), CLS (04.99-11.03), CL Coupe (12.99-01.04), CLK (04.99-10.03), E-Class (04.99-11.03), G-Class (06.00-06.06), M-Class (04.00-02.05), S-Class (12.99-01.04), SL (08.00-09.04)/not for use in Auto Pilot System or Audio 30/50 APS)]

Its a Blaupunkt Tele Atlas.

Do you know if this would work?

The disk you need is a Teleatlas/Blaupunkt DX disk. The one described above sounds right. Make sure you get a genuine one, not a copy. You wouldnt believe how often I come across customers who have copies and say 'My navigation wont read the disks' when all along it will. It just doesnt like copies.

Partial postcodes only though. 5 characters max. Still the same right up to current day disks
