Would that fit a standard CE center console, it looks very different?

Don't think so , unless it clips over the sides somehow ..

But then all the controls (heater etc) would need to be moved forward ....

No holes for the heated seat switches are visible. Are they knock out holes or specially made?

I think each console was specially made to accomodate the options specified for that particular car ...

There was a discussion a while back about retrofitting switches to a w124 , and the concensus was that you could do it with a small drill and a dremel , but you would need the skills of a watchmaker and the kahunas of a cape buffalo to attempt it !
