QUESTION:

Can the extending rod arm be taken off the main visor or is it locked in within..

it slides back and forth, but will not come out..

Please advise.

cheers

Is it squeaking...?

I've often wondered the same and how to change the bulbs.

no not squeaking.

the black clip on mine is damaged, so i managed to find a replacement visor, however i want to retain my visor, just change the black clip

however the clip is held on with a spring washer clip..

which idealy i do not want to remove off, so i rather slide of one rod from the replacement visor and replace it into my visor.

or if anyone can advise how to remove and reinstall the spring clip that holds the visor rod on to the black mounting bracket, then that would be great too

the bulbs change by pulling up he front plastic that houses the mirror.. carefully, there is a hinge at the upper edge, so its a very delicate opening..

Oh my word! I never knew they extended like that! Is it the same for all this era of benzes?

You can buy the lock washers from MB, you have to use a strong small diameter tool to get the locking clip off, it will almost certainly be destroyed, get a new one from the Dealership.

i will try this.. didnt realise this part was available.. duh!

because the black mount point is not available.. hence i went to the extent of getting it from the US.. same part as used in R129s :)

I've got a bunch of them here, somewhere. You have to hand it to MB they do try hard on the parts availability front. If you get stuck Boss, I'll go searching for the part number - let me know.
