W124 fuel tank for spare wheel - how rare is it?

I would just send it back for something that has been misdescribed. Have you checked the price of a new one? Can the old ones be polished I wonder? £117 is a huge amount IMO.

Hi

i was bidding on this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=150303764300

unfortunatly I was outbid :( but i was wondering how rare these actually are - My max bid was £57....

is it worth much more (ie is £60 a bargain) or are these more common than i think - i've never seen one before, but heard about them on W123's but never on a 124.

Well, you just might get lucky this time!!:bannana:

These are more suitable for either veg or diesel, holds 44 litres with feed and return plumb up - it takes the place of your spare wheel so need to carry a can of shaving foam in case you get a flat :p

Hi all regarding the fuel tank, it is a jerry can holding 7 litres with an unleaded size filler neck to fit in conjunction with the spacesaver spare wheel.
Part no is B67580038 and fits...]

Don't wish to hijack the thread - but what would the part no be for one of these for a W203?

Thanks...

same part number i believe.

That veg tank looks good. Still unsure if i want or need to go down the twin-tank route. Car starts and runs fine on 100% veg when its not cold.

I'm currently putting a little DINO or RUG into the tank at the moment to aid cold-starting now its getting pretty cold. Still got to experiment with percentages, but price of DINO is quite low at the moment (well relatively) so dont mind putting a bit in!

you also need the fitting kit to do the job properly :)

part number

MB67580032

that should be the long wingbolt and washer to hold it in place - costs about a fiver (or should I say used to :))

Hi

I ordered the above bolt, which was longer than my current bolt. However it wasnt long enough.

Does anyone know the correct part number for a W124 estate long enough to hold both the spare wheel and the fuel can in?

cheers

And in fact I've got one of those somewhere...
