w124 hydraulic fluid - probably a silly question but...

much thanking thee, i have now found it.... is there a way to get to it without removing the big black round thing (air filter?) cos its rather cramped in there, even with my small hands i dont think i can access it

Hi, check if your car has auto levelling suspension, if it does, the fluid you need is MVATF from a motor factor such as Motor Parts Direct. About £10 / litre. The fluid does the power steering and hydraulic self levelling suspension systems and they share the reservoir at the front under the bonnet on the L.H. Side of the car behind the washer bottle. DO NOT PUT ATF in it!!! or anything red.
DO NOT take the cap off the reservoir whilst the engine is running unless you have checked that the cap does not incorporate the fluid return pipe (many do) or it will pump fluid out all over the place.
