I have a e280 W124 estate, yesterday after 120 mile round trip I pull forward on the car park, reversed slightly and then a clunk, the car now has a rear end wobble? even when stationary, seems to get less when in nuetral (its an auto)

Any Ideas,

p.s none of the wheels have been off and I can see anything wrong with any wheels tyres or brakes from underneath?

thanks

you need to get rear wheels off one by one to see all the suspension links.

get a mole grip or similar on each link in turn, and see if you can turn it.

this will show play/breakage in link joint.

I'd check all the suspension bushes , subframe bushes , propshaft couplings & mountings , diff mountings , driveshafts - whole back end really .

What I WOULD NOT do is to drive it further until the problem is diagnosed .

Broken rear spring? loose differential mounts? rear subframe mounts?- usually the front ones and not the mounts themselves--but where they mount on the body frame- not easy to see until you jack up the car and inspect carefully.
