Has anyone ever put W210 facelift flashing wing mirrors on a W124?

If so, how easy is it to do?

I would keep the exisiting flashers on the wings for now if I did/could do this mod.

Would there be any extra drain/problem by having 2 indicators flashing together like this?

And would it be possible to retrofit electrically folding mirrors and switches into the existing space inside the car?
Thanks in advance.

Regards,

KJ

I fitted them to my 129 and the flash rate does not change with them all connected. Some of the later version have LED's but not sure that they come with the 210 covers or mirrors that will git your car.

Nats matt was doing this mod

Thanks Malcolm.

I found some on ebay and they are LED.

Painting them shouldn't cost too much but in the "crew's" opinion would it be less fussy to have the holes in the front wings blanked out?

Sorry if this sounds rude, but I think they'd look tacky and spoil the car, 124 coupes look nicest OEM IMHO :)

Spend the money on another treat for the car - new mats, numberplates, speakers or something?

In the warm weather you can paint them your self with aerosols , just a bass coat and two top clear, owing to the shape you will never notice any difference in the colour

You could remove the side repeaters and use stick on badges over the holes,

Nick Shude told me once that someone had cut the metal part from a W210 and welded it onto a W124 so the W210 blinker mirrors were a flush fit. Anything is possible (within reason) with enough imagination :)

I have seen w210 facelift mirrors on a w124 saloon. The guy chopped a section out of the doors and welded a w210 door section in so the mirrors bolted straight on.

It looked totally stock! The mirror adjustment was a nightmare because the facelift w210 uses a totally different system for adjustment, but I believe this was sorted out eventually.

As for a coupe, not sure if it can be done.

EDIT: the guy who did this is called "extreme e500" or "extreme 500e" and used to regularly post on some of the US forums, his w124 is a yellow 500 look-alike.

The item in the link above if from CKS and is for the shells.

It may be less hassle just to paint them and connect up.

Might just go and buy two new original wings at the same time or . . . . . have both flashing at the same time.

Is that what you were doing at the quayside.....getting some Bass..

:) :D

unless your doing the 210 mirror mod, all the aftermarket led ones make the car look cheap, on a standard car, i think it`d look even worse! , leave well alone if you ask me... but it is your car... :)
