I recent bought used ML 320, its a very nice car etc but i have been noticing something which I am bit puzzled, i have tried searching everywhere on the net but i havent found an answer for it, the issue is the BODY SHAPE of my ML, from look at it on the outside it looks like the FRONT part of the car is LOWER compared to the BACK of it. I have been looking around on other old shape ML and most of them seems to be LEVEL front and BACK

Is there anything to be done for my ML to be same height LEVEL between front and back, I think all 4 Tyres are same size

This is little confusing, do you mean the suspension isn't level? It's not clear from the picture

Do you have a dead-on side view we can look at?

I cant say it looks as you describe from that picture.

Here are some press shots of MLs if this helps:

You know the shoulder line of the W163 does gradually rise from the front to the rear, could that be whats courseing you to think that its un-level?

Hi Robbie, I am not sure if its suspension on what, but from the side look my ML look lower on the front and a bit higher at the back

I will post the SIDE picture of my ML for you all to see and advise, this was a quick one i had with me at the time of posting

I think mine sits a tad higher at the back.

Thing is with the shape of the ML its slopes down so maybe it 'looks' worse than it is?

Here are pics of mine, and from my eyes the back looks a bit higher. Any suggestions will be very helpful

To allow full suspension travel at the rear under load (which could be 7 people and luggage in this car (and towing something heavy)).

Take a measurement from the ground to the lip of the wheel arch both back and front and post it here

i will do the same with my 52 plate W163 and compare it with yours

Regards

Pete

Its simply the shoulder line in the cars bodywork, check its location above the front wheelarch, and then the rear.

Looks fine to me.

Thanks guys 4 your inputs, i wont do any changes on it i was bit unsure bcoz some ML on the roads looks lower than and level than mine, but am satisfied with it now

cheers

Is this a secret hitherto unknown model that AMG made ? ;)

If the cats have ever been off, it is necessary to remove the front torsion bars. It seems likely to me that the ride height may not have been set correctly afterwards if this is the case. It is an easy job to have corrected if it is worrying you.
