Hi,

I have a W202 1999 C220 CDI which appears to have a fuel leak at the injectors of cylinders 1 & 2. There is an accumulation of about 1 millimeter of diesel on the cylinder head in the well for the injector on cylinder 1 and about half that around cylinder 2. Around cylinders 3 & 4 it is clean and dry.

When serviced about 1 year ago injector seals part MA611 017 00 60 were replaced on the injectors for cylinders 1 & 2.

The MB garage want to keep the car for 3 days before giving an estimate for the repair cost. How dangerous a fire risk is it to drive in this state please?

Any advice gratefully received.

Not dangerous at all. Diesel is very difficult to ignite.

Is issue is that diesel spilling onto the road is a danger to other vehicles as it is very slippery.

I expect it will be the leak off pipe leaking (can be called a spill pipe too)

Oh and why do they need it for 3 days? It should not take too long to find a leak!
