W203 slightly modified
Looking to make up a retrofit kit for a W203 2004 rain sensor (classic) option [345]. Would really like confirmation on the sensor module itself.

Rain sensor
----------
A210 820 57 10 [old]
A___ ___ __ __ [is there a new one ?]

Daylight sensor
--------------
A209 820 31 26 [compatible with rain sensor setup]

Cable harness
--------------
A203 540 90 06 [old]
A203 440 41 10 [new]

Mounting plate
--------------
A211 820 02 11 [seldom needed]

I am not sure if the old W210 part number works in the 2004 cars - does it physically fits the newer W203 (not the 2005 model).

If anyone has advice I am interested to hear it.

Old rain sensor - 4 pipes for the light and a band pass filter metal film in middle

New rain sensor - 10 light pipes, 2 for sun and 8 for rain. A combo unit not a single sensor.

Miro , do you know if the new combo unit will go onto the 2003 MY w203 . i.e. not the facelift one

Pull off the rear cover as it's not bonded.

Is there one module (new) or a large space with a daylight sensor crammed in the corner (old)

Look outside the car, 10 light pipes (new), or just 4 light pipes with a violet rectangle and two small circles nearby (old).

You can mistake a light pipe, it is hard bonded up against the glass.

However, in the Avantgarde it is two different windscreens.
