W203 Coupe Stuck Front Seat (Manual seat)

None.
I've had a good look through previous threads, but can't find anything similar to the problem my car has.

Essentially my passenger seat is stuck in the second part of 'putting it forward'

So when the handle is pulled, the seat back goes forwards and backwards but the part when the seat base tilts forward doesn't.

I've managed to find a metal latch underneath the seat that when pulled and the seat is pushed it suddenly releases but when it's all reset the problem still exists.

Any ideas?

Will a Haynes manual help me at all?

Let me know if pictures would help!

Thanks :)

Nothing in the W203 Haynes Manual regarding Coupe seats I'm afraid. The only mention of front seats for any model is the removal and refitting of them, which obviously is just a matter of sliding the seat back to remove the two securing bolts at the front and then sliding it forwards, removing the two rear bolts and undoing the wiring connection to remove it. Yours being manual wouldn't have electrical connections though, unless they are heated.

Suggest you take it out of the car so that you can see if something has come undone or broken.

Thanks Grumpy.

Think I'll take it out to investigate further.

well might be able to help on this one, I have the same problem and I think its all to do with how far the seat base is back, I think once you go past a certain forward position on the seat base the secondary operation is disabled. On mine if the seat is all the way back it does the two tips you have to lift the handle and then let go for the secondary action to work but once half way forward it doesn't work anymore hope it helps :):thumb:
