Ok

This could all end in humiliation for me.

Car C55 AMG estate - 2004 model.

I bought replacement wipes (full set)

The rear went on just find (like thousands of wipers have done in the past)

Got to the front. I can't get the existing ones off. The have a cap with two arrows <> and two grip pads. But no amount pulling heaving gripping WD40 etc will release them. How are they supposed to come off?

The replacements are the corrrect size but the fitment looks like a standard wiper type fitment. It does not have the cap that the existing ones have.

Help please. My wife says that bigger idiots than me can change wiper blades. She may be correct but they know what they are doing.

Kentish man or Man of Kent - just wondering? if you purchased from Halford suggest you go back and ask them to fit at limited cost. If not why not try your friendly local Main Dealer pleading ignorance along the way?

OK

I got the original ones off eventually. I think they were just jammed up with crud.

Now I see that in a stroke of engineering genius MB have designed the front wiper arms differently to the rear arm. The rear arm is the same hook design found on most cars. Not only that, they have also ensured that they are a different design to every other car on the road. So my nice new blades will not fit and it looks like a trip to MB is in the offing.
