Hi, my car is coming upto 1500 miles and called my local mb dealer about if the car needs the rear diff oil changing?

They didn't seem to know anything about this and said the cars first service would be after 10k miles or when it's a year old.

Is this correct? Is it worth getting the engine oil and diff oil changed before this time?

The car is a C63 w205 non S model.

Thanks

I thought the diff oil should be changed at around 1750 miles?:dk:

I'd ring another dealer and get a definitive reply.

The diff oil definitely needs changing at approx 1850 miles.

Called my local dealer and they were clueless.. said they had never heard of this before and didn't think it needed doing... So now even more confused.

As per below is this on the non S model also? I read that there should be a sticker in the windscreen but my car definitely doesn't have one.

Yes the non s c63 has a mechanical lsd.

Thanks, my local dealer did call me back and said it does need changing as you say.

They said at around 2000 miles, is there a charge for this? If so do you know how much I should expect to pay approx?

Thanks.

So the stealer initially has no clue what you mean then suddenly comes back to you saying it needs to be done:dk: I suspect with a premium cost attached, farcical springs to mind:crazy::doh: they probably did some research on the MB forums to check:rolleyes:

I dont have much faith in my local dealer tbh. Think I'm going to go to the one in the next town I gave them a call also and they seemed much more clued up, even said the oil change was foc as it cones under recall work.
