About 6 or 7 months ago my car was priced at just over £52K by WBAC. Yesterday it was priced at just under £42K! an alarming difference of over £10K! I wouldn’t mind so much if forecourt prices were dropping at the same rate but that certainly isn’t the case😫

They started dropping when the fuel price started to rise ,I wouldn't worry about it as there's no such thing as a cheap c63 as you've mentioned sale prices haven't come down even categorised cars are silly money 🙂

Don't forget some off us are sitting on our cash waiting for that exact thing to happen!!. I'm not paying silly current prices for a 10ish year old AMG compared to what i could have payed pre-pandemic.....they are starting to go down on forecourts too (especially some of the stuff that's been on AT etc for ages), just not at a fast enough rate yet.....maybe they are finally realising that they wont sell for those prices unless they are the best of the best. Some of the 212 prices out there even on private sales are away with the fairies.

I'd like to know your budget and spec you are after and a few on here maybe able to help imo they will not go down to pre pandemic prices .
Before I bought my ppp c63 there was a 507 with 33k fsh private sale for 19k and took around a week to sell just look at the prices now

We know mate, you say so on a regular basis. Look forward to seeing pics of your E63 in 2058.

Add to the mix that new reg car sales will push prices down on trade-ins.

And interest rate rises and the end of Quantitative Easing mean that the Manufacturers, finance companies and dealers won't be able to keep vehicles "on the books" for as long as they have this last year or two.

These cars are worth what they're worth - sorry but at some stage you are going to need to 'Sh*t or get off the pot', its as simple as that. Its been said a few times on here already but, for every car you're passing up on because the price is 'away with the fairies', they'll be buyers waiting behind you who won't be so fussy.

I appreciate you have some experience in the trade, but clearly this isn't helping you here, otherwise you'd have bought a car weeks ago.

Amen brother. I tend to find that people who are serious about doing anything, including buying a car, tend to just do it. They don't post to tell people they're thinking about buying a car, they just do it.

They certainly don't go on and on about how all the cars are overpriced and that they will pay what they think the car is worth as an ex VW/Audi sales manager.

You have to pay to play as they say.

I think a good marker of value are auctions (but I'm biased as I love them!)... did you see the 2015 E63 that sold there a few days ago...I think it was 39k miles and Sold for around £30k. I think that was pretty fair for both buyer and seller.

If he's not willing to pay the going rate then he doesn't want 1 simple, we all can hold out for a sub 40k miles at £15k
( never going to happen) cash or no cash

On collecting cars i should have said!

I think prices will definitely down, not least due to depreciation, but I'm not sure it'll be so quick for more specialist performance cars as for the rest of the second hand market. Just sold my R8 (sad times) and it went within 2 days for way more than I expected to get...

But this is all just my uninformed opinion 😁

What are you expecting to get for your budget?
How much do you have to spend on an E63?
I doubt you'll find a sub 50k mile facelift with nice options for under £25/26k, even with the prices dropping slightly now fuel prices have risen drastically.
If you really want a cheap one it'll be a high mile pre facelift............................unless you want to wait months.

I imagine he's hoping to get a sub 20k miles, every option inc carbon ceramics and designo paint 2015 E63S for 10k. Price is £35k but he's an ex car sales manager so the seller will have to see sense and drop £25k.

As a slight tangent (sorry), and not so interesting aside, I would love to know what factors are at play here. Obviously there were supply and demand and chip issues that initially affected the second hand market, but how will it play out for the performance car market? Do some sections of society have more money "after" the pandemic for these cars? Has the pandemic made more people think f@@k it, I'll get that car I've always wanted, life's too short? Is the relentless push towards EVs making people buy these cars as a "last chance"? I guess we'll never really know.

The R8 was 1 on my list but was too impractical and too wide for my airchamber 🙂
The c63 I bought was late 2016 , 30k miles 2 owners and every option available apart from the carbon ceramics plus afew other bits for a price I was happy with and that's all what matters

Here it is
