W208 CLK instrument cluster and steering wheel upgrade (HOW TO GUIDE)

I would like some info on how to upgrade the speedo/ instrument cluster on a 1999 CLK 320 to that of the later models, 2000-2002.

which parts will i need other than the instrument cluster and steering wheel?

or does anyone have a how to guide they can send me the link to, thanks in advance.

It is possible to update W208 and W210 models with instrument cluster and steering wheel swap plus wiring and coding, also possible on W202 if modified W208/210 parts are used.

This has been carried out by a couple of people on this forum and something I intend to do myself at some point, I have a detailed HOWTO in PDF format supplied by a (former?) member (name is/was mrfiepro) a long time ago and will post what I can from this later.
