Hi,

Went to use my folding seats for the first time...and guess what yay another problem! :(

One seat the release doesn't work, feels as if it has lost tension.

The other seat, the release worked, but now i cannot lock or close it back into position. Any tricks?

Thanks.

Ross

It maybe that the mechanism requires lubricating on the bottom of the seat.

If there is no tension the cable has probably come off the handle.. if you need to get the set down just pull on the cable with some pliers.

look underneath the handle - you should be able to see the end of the steel cable - looks like a bike brake type cable.

on mine it had popped out of the little plastic holster - pliers should do the trick.

thanks guys...one pain of these winter days is that it's already dark and i'm not even done work!

i'll see if the interior boot light is good enough.

yes i could see the black cable, that looked like a bicycle brake cable. Will see if it has popped out, and use pliers to open.

Any idea why it won't lock? Will try lubricating.

managed, using WD40 and brute force, to close and lock into position the open seat.

I was able to see that the cable has popped out of the handle, but it was too dark to do anything fiddly. When it's more light i'll try and re-fit the cable into the handle.

Thanks
