W209 CLK 6310i Controller Update - Help Please

Just been robbed at the Stealership (Collindale).

My W209 CLK has the full factory phone kit for a Nokia 6210
I bought the updated Controller for my 6310i, £238.50 !!!

2 Questions

They supplied a
A 203 820 5185 [04]

I thought it should have been
A 203 820 2585

Is this correct?

Have looked under all 4 seats. Where is the old one for me to swap it out?

PSE is located in the boot left handside (w208)you need to remove the trim.

Try rear right side of your trunk, its the same as w203 i belive

Well I found it - eventually.
Dead centre between the spare wheel and the back seat.

As for the supplied
A 203 820 5185 [04]

rather than the expected
A 203 820 2585

All seems to work OK :bannana:

The armrest cradle isn't a brilliant fit on the 6310i. Sometimes it requires 'help' to get a good connection, especially the aerial. The phones appear to be of the same profile, but the 6310i battery is a bit shallower.

Now to dispose of my old 6210e (unlocked for all networks)
and the old MB / Nokia interface A203 820 99 26.

Oh and just a slight matter of rebuilding the car after playing hide and seek.

I too have just been through this process on my W208 to get my 6310i working.

The original controller was A 203 820 9926 for the supplied Nokia 6210.

I was quoted £235 for the A 203 820 2585 by a dealer with a several day wait for the part to arrive from Germany.

Further investigation turned up the part no. A 203 820 5185. I rang the parts dept. of the dealer in Canary Wharf, who was quite helpful, to check the part numbers. They advised that the "5185 part was the latest replacement and had superceded the 2585". The also said that I "must use the 5185 if I want it to work". The price for the 5185 was £238.50 and would have to come from Milton Keynes.

Unlike Ralph, I was not willing to pay so much! I searched around on Ebay and found a brand new 5185 on the German site. The part is now on its way for €122!

the 5185 as you have found now is the latest version

I heard though that the old controllers can be reprogrammed for about £100

not sure if they work though .
