W210 Blower Motor with Climate Control

Blower resistor has packed up on a 98 model W210 with climate control. I can find replacement regulators from the Far East, but no guarantee how long they will last for. I also think that the fan is a bit dodgy as well – could just be the bushes.
I understand that MB subsequently redesigned the fan and mounting and regulator assembly – these appear to be quite common now on the second hand parts market etc. Does anyone know if the redesigned assembly is a direct replacement – i.e will it fit directly on to the existing mounts in the chassis and plug directly into the wiring? If so, does anyone have a part number?

What I've learn there are at least two designs in W210. Another is Behr made like in this thread (applies W211 but guys there says W210 has similar ones?) Mersuforum.net ? katso viestiketjua - W211 Lämppärin puhaltimen hiilten vaihto, ohjeet kuvien kera. There brushes can be changed. But for example in my W210, it's valeo (again ) and motor is assembled opposite ways and brushes are in blower rotor side, blower not removable. Then one more thing, they sell different assemblies depending do you have automatic (digital display) or semi-automatic (manual control wheels) AC in your car...

I bought Chinese replica blower, cost about 130€ (without regulator)...

Weird...if I go in with the VIN, everything shows up as 'not applicable for this vehicle', both manual and auto climate control.

If I go in via E430, it comes up with A2108206742 as the latest part number

Thanks. Checked the VIN. No mistakes. Maybe it was a Friday job back in 1998

Car has digital climate control .

Have attached a Photo of the rear of the existing blower attached. All aluminium chassis, but the mounting points look similar to the redesigned model.
