W211 2008 speakers upgrade - company recommendations

Hi All

Can anyone recommend any good places that can upgrade the sound system on my 2008 W211, its got the basic Audio 20 with a single CD slot, no bluetooth etc, I dont mind keeping the same head unit, just really want better speakers, I remember sitting in a merc with the Bose soundsystem which sounded pretty good.

I'm in the beds/herts area but dont mind travelling

You might want to have a read here first. I had an amplifier fitted to my car and it's made a fantastic difference. The general consensus is that the standard speakers in the 211 aren't too bad.

Thanks Mike, I've only got Audio 20 (no comand, sat nav, harmon kardon etc) so thought the speakers would be quite basic too, if thats not the case then i'll definitely look at an amp, dont know much about car audio so first place to look for me was the speakers, was considering a small sub too, sounds like an amp will be the best place to start

I don't know how the heads differ in your Audio 20 and my Comand unit, which is four years older, but the difference the amp made in mine meant that I don't need a sub woofer, such is the improvement it has made and the capabilities of the standard speakers. My local audio specialist fitted it for about £100, including cable and connectors, which means I can just unplug it and reconnect the cables to revert to standard.
