W211 E55s for sale

Absolutely fine with me. If we turn up mob-handed we might look like we know what we're doing (even though at least one of us won't :o).

As I said to TDE1, it's looking increasingly unlikely that it's going to happen this weekend; the next one (28th or 29th) is a lot more likely if that suits.

Another very helpful chap on here (Doodle) has also volunteered his services. :D

Mine is more of an interest than E55 expertise. Living in Birmingham it's on my doorstep.

What area of Brum?

Regarding the timing - the longer you wait the more chance you have of them selling it unless they hold it on a deposit, which for a fortnight, may well be non refundable.

Not sure yet. Until we can agree on a price there's no point arranging a viewing so the seller hasn't given me their location.

I've just made my final offer to the seller so we'll see what they say. If they won't drop the price to where I need it to be then I'll have to carry on looking.

Gotcha, I assumed a dealer.

Good grief. They've said yes to my offer. :D

They've already found their next car and want to avoid relisting if possible.

I'm going to go and have a look at it tomorrow and then put down a deposit if everything checks out.

Anyone available tomorrow? I'm just about to ring them to sort out a time.

Most likely for me - I just need an approximate time.

What B postcode?

Great news! Well haggled.

Think I'm busy for most of it, definitely the morning. What time you going?

Waiting to hear back about a time and location. I'll PM them if that's OK. :)

Im offline now until 9pm. You can PM me if you need some support and I'll pick it up later :thumb:.

I want to come along as well now!

This reminds me of when I first arranged to go and see mine.

In the end, I left work an hour early and nipped over on a Tuesday.

Then agonised over it all week playing the cold poker face.

Once I'd verified it was all hunky dorey and placed a deposit on it - the excitement started to build. I couldn't pick it up for another few days.

Whole thing took two weeks but I managed to negotiate new front discs and pads, as well as a new mirror indicator lense and wheel bearing as well as £500 off.

It was agony waiting though...

Sorted. PMs on the way. :)

Excuse the brevity - our internet isn't being fixed until tomorrow morning so I'm on a crappy PAYG dongle.

I couldn't make it in time. Looking forward to seeing how it went!

Very, very disappointing. :(

It was in really poor condition - lots of scuffs, dings and scratches on the outside and the interior looked very worn: cracked trim and knackered seat leather amongst other things. Not at all like the photos in the ad so I don't know when they were taken.

The car was running when I arrived, the brakes were too hot to touch and the onboard trip computer was showing single digit MPG so he'd been out and thrashed it before I got there.

There was no service history until 20,000 miles and the last service was done by "his mate" who lived round the corner.

I'm absolutely gutted as I thought this was going to be the one but I think I dodged a bullet there. Big bills ahead for the next owner.

Massive thanks to John (developer215) for coming along. I was very glad of his support, advice, tea and cake. Top bloke. :)

John is a top bloke and good company, it's just a big shame your day was ruined because the car wasn't up to scratch. :(

It looks likes it's going to be a waiting game for you I'm afraid, but I'm sure that one will come up. :thumb:

GreetMe, dont be dissappointed, just be glad you didnt buy it!

like i said before it took me 6 months to get the right one, and it was worth the wait, i only looked at 3 cars over that period.

is the one in MK still a possibility?

Interestingly, the car hadn't been cleaned and the wheels were filthy.

It may not affect the car itself, but it was the start of a number of warning signals.

GreetMe will find the right car - he's got the right approach and while we can all get dazzled by the diamonds, he won't be baffled by the bullsh*t.

It's just a question of time :thumb:.

Hard luck chap.

This is why we've been saying to try and extend your budget to minimise chances of seeing lots of turds.

I know finding more cash is not always easy.

As Alps says, at least you've not bought a turd in all the excitement.

I'm a bit lost on which links are for what - which link was it for this car?
