Hello again,

The halogen projector headlights on my W211 2004 E 270CDI (non xenons) are pointing far too low.

The foglamps are fine. However, the low beams point where the fogs are pointing and the high beams point where the low beams should ideally point. So, the headlights, though bright enough are not travelling sufficiently into the distance.

Have searched the forums for the manual adjustment and not been able to get a clear result.

Have posted a pic below with the knobs marked A, B & C. Would be greatful if someone could tell me which knob does what. (Tried turning a couple of rounds on each, nothing happens). Also, should'nt there be a 4th knob...couldn't find it?

Oh yeah, the vacuum wheel in the dash works fine and is set to the highest ( I think that would be zero).

in short, how do I adjust the headlights to point a bit higher?

Thanks in advance.

Mohnish.

Solved !

A bit of research and the results for anyone in my situation:

The knob marked "B" in pic above has a phillips screw inset which if turned alters the vertical setting of the low beams.

The knob marked "C" in pic above which if turned alters the vertical setting of the high beams.

I don't know what knob "A" does !
