Hi
I'm considering using a specialist to re-map my 320Cdi. Has anyone used ProTune in the North West, or can perhaps recommend an alternative - I'm in the South Cheshire region.
Thanks
steve

ECU remap in the North West ? Recommendations

As above - I'm considering a remap for my w220 S320CDI but am based in the North West - can anyone recommend a provider. I've noted Angel but they are not local and Celtic Tuning also.

Wondered if there were others who have provided a good service ?
THanks
Steve

Hi

What about a kleemann kd box. Plug and play?
Prices are around 350

I wouldn't get a remap without having some validation on a rolling road to be honest.

some of the cars we map, we have to have 2 attempts to get the map perfect.

for instance, in the power test prior to remapping you're basically checking that the engine is healthy, if it isn't, then the problem may have to be sorted prior to remapping for safety, such as a small misfire due to a sticky injector. A problem like this would only be exaggerated by an increase of power.

Kleemans is top notch but i would expect its expensive. The plus side they have 2 offices in uk, one is in south cheshire.
Try them.

One thing I did read when considering a re-map myself, is something BlackC55 said.

Make sure your gearbox is in tip-top shape, otherwise it's a timebomb waiting to go off.

I think I'll take a raincheck on a re-map personally until I get an ATF re-fill etc. But if yours is good as gold and you know for sure, as far as evrything else I've researched, you're good to go.

Hi

If you come to Birmingham I can fit a kleemann kd box and you can see if it is any good or not? If you like get one if not leave it, but you get around 30 bhp more out of it and it can be used again in any merc cdi rather then a laptop map which is only to that car.
The kd box map 10 different maps on there for The cdi engines.

Thanks for all the responses and useful information. I'll certainly look into the kleemann kd box as an alternative. As the car is new to me Id benefit from a thorough once over of all major elements before going for it.

I have a 2004 S600 500 hp biturbo and want to have a safe remap. One company tried an ECU remap but the ECU (version 27???) did not respond allegedly. It will be a chip-tuning job.

Is there someone who can tune this car "conservatively" as I have plenty of torque up to 3500 revs, but want more power in the higher rev ranges (4000-5800) where the engine operates on kick-down?
