E-Class 211: Compressor, Suspension, AIR-SUSPENSION-SHOP These guys have the front struts at €535 each and a pair of rears for €556 if I'm picking out the right parts in that link. Judging by the prices you have paid, that's a fair bit less! Are they reputable? Only reason I ask is that I may order them if/when I eventually get an E55K and keep them as instant access spares.

Many have used Arnott but they stopped shipping outside the US as people didn't return the old unit to be reconditioned. A few companies in Europe have sprung up from time to time offering the service so they must have a deal with Arnott to deal with returning stock units.

Your are always going to have a big difference in price between aftermarket recon units versus original MB parts, probably would have happened with SBC units but as up until recently MB were covering the cost there has not been a need in the market.

No... those are the outboard shock absorbers, and not the Airmatic Air springs. The rear suspension setup looks similar to this diagram...

I've been reading your posts and I think I have the E55 you are looking for. I posted it on classifieds. It has only done 48,800 miles and I very much doubt you would find a better one. Although the price is £12,990, for only a couple of grand, you would get the right car and all your concerns would be answered. I am a perfectionist with cars and people would tell you that I am the worst person to sell a car to, but the very best person to buy one from. A good few years ago, I advertised my BMW 325i on Autotrader and for a higher price compared to most others advertised at that time. I knew mine was the best out there and the following day, I had a call from a car dealer in Edinburgh. He quizzed me about the car and was keen to know if it was as good as I was saying it was. I told him that I wouldn't waste anyone's time and suggested he came to see it. He flew down to Heathrow the next day and I met him at Reading train station. He looked at the car, drove it for 5 minutes and said he would have it. We walked over to the Bank of Scotland, he gave me the full asking price in cash and drove back to Scotland in the car. I then had to get the bus home.

Hopefully, that will give you an idea of the quality of my cars and the person I am. I am not in the motor trade myself, I have just about owned every high performance car out there and I know high quality cars, when I see them. I looked at 9 E55's before I bought this one and it was worlds apart.
