A Sunbeam Alpine, bought when I left the Navy, My Instructor was an advanced Police Driving Instructor, so had a good Teacher and a good Car, just wished I had kept the car, must be worth a fair bit now.

Also a Micra but it was 1996 so a couple of models later. Incredibly low powered car.

I passed my test in my mum's 1984 Volvo 340GL after 5 lessons and 1st time, bonus!!

Rover 114GSI 1996 P reg Test passed Feb 98 After 6 lessons with the AA driving School.

First car a battered A reg Vauxhall Nova Saloon

Bike test passed some years later in 2007 on a Kawasaki ER5

Vauxhall magnum 2300 coupe. After being straight faced all the way through the test he told me at the end that it was an unusual choice of learner car but he liked it very much!

Passed in 1975 in my brothers Austin mini van

Hillman Hunter with Pennine School of Motoring in about 1972.
Then bought an Austin A40.
Then bought an Austin Westminster ... and was forever hooked on big cars.

One like this...

1967 Morris mini countryman, almond green (this is a Austin, but pretty much the same apart from badges and some trim)

Had a series of lessons for my 17th birthday (one guinea a lesson). I think it was 12 or maybe 10 lessons. Passed my test 10 weeks later first time. Actually started learning in the instructor's Vauxhall Viva with dual controls, but progressed to the mini after a few weeks. I got taken to a disused airfield to have a go in the mini before I went on the road with it.

A very worn out 1.0 Nisssan Micra with a clutch a bit like an on/off switch
