What do you want to know?

JDB. I have a e class estate on order and it's pretty fully spec'd up but it seems that I can't have ventilated and massage seats on it? Any thoughts?

Oh and can I get a spare wheel for the eclass estate rather than the dreaded tin can of inflation juice. Even though it's go run flats I'd prefer to have a spare.

Cheers

Neither are an option on the E Class. There's no space for a spare

This £40k thing is list price, isn't it, not what you actually pay for the car?
Looking at c350e and that hovers around £40k list price (even if £10k deposit contributions are available)

It's list price minus RFL and first reg fee

Thanks JBD! Just about raided all of the option list but I did wonder if I was missing something.

We've had a couple of cool new cars in this week. A Selenite Grey Magno E63 S and a GLA 45 Yellow Night Edition

Maybe the earlier pictures of the E63 showing MB of Norwich weren't real then ........

There's plenty of people on here who know me in person [emoji23]

His name is James Cooling and he was extremely helpful to me, and many others, when I had problems with Mercedes Me and my dealer was unhelpful. What did he get out of it? Absolutely nothing.

But, I'm going change to the new E Class Cabrio next year, and he'll be my first, and most probably, last port of call (well, after seeing what the going rate is on Carwow, if anything).

Do you know much about the service department regarding the warranty/goodwill/retailer contributions and how they're calculated?

To me it seem a bit like whatever they feel like at that moment in time.

They get submitted to head office and they come back with a contribution figure. Generally it's down to whether you've had your car serviced with Mercedes or not. I've seen 6-7 year old cars with 90-100% contributions because Mercedes see those individuals as valued long term customers. They're not all bad

Thanks! Feedback is always appreciated, I'm glad I could help at the time

Thanks for your reply. I've had 2 experiences, one was good with 100% and the other not so amazing where I had to fight for even 50% and both cars were very similar ages with full mercedes service history. The one that was not so good had even done less milage and this is the same dealership so is surprising

That can be down to what the issue is and how much Mercedes have put aside for it. What was the issue?

Timing chain is being replaced. The previous issue with my last car was some sort of exhaust problem with a wiring loom both of which can't be influenced with driving or misuse etc so the cant put it down to the owner. The aftersales guy said that he controls the manufacturer's goodwill to an extent but wouldn't go into further details and seemed quite secretive about the whole process so I'm a bit curious.

It's really that there's a limited amount of money for the year and it has to be spread out. As it's goodwill, it does really have to be like that

That's understandable, thanks for the clarification

Hi JBD.

Do you have any news on the C Class saloon facelift?

Do you think it's likely that the C Class petrol range will be expanded in the near future, now the govt seems to have changed its mind about diesel?

I know that the C300 is available in the coupe but in the saloon the jump between the C200 and C43 is quite significant!

Hi,

I expect it'll arrive next year. MB are developing a range of new petrol engines, including a new 2ltr unit, so I'm sure we will see more petrol variants when the FL is launched
