What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Got the SL55AMG back today from my Indy (DDR Surrey).
They had the car to fit
1. New engine mounts,
2. New gearbox mount,
3. New propshaft to diff coupling,
4..New Supercharger belt
5. New auxiliary belt.
The car is noticeably smoother when running and driving.. very happy :) so took her out for lunch, topless! (only the car!)

At the service (at DDR Surrey),a fortnight ago I also had New engine oil and filters, gearbox oil and filters changed, 16 New spark plugs, SBC fluid changed.
That’s a proper freshen up up. New mounts make a big difference.

Stick around though, jonesy, by the way what did you buy. 😉🙂
I really like the forum and the membership so will be visiting regularly.
We needed a taller vehicle due to some health issues, getting in and out was becoming an issue.
I ended up buying a Renault Kadjar, after looking around for a month at mid size petrol suv’s (I swore I’d never have one! ) it came out top of our requirements list, unfortunately that list didn’t include the ridiculous amount of technology I now own.

I’m still recovering from the seven and a half hours spent at the dealers on two visits, I’ve not bought a car for nearly ten years, then all I did was sign a few docs and go for a test drive, ten years later I was given the full sales monty on why I needed extended warranty, special paint protection, and the finance options I could take “advantage” of.
I got the impression that they didn’t like me paying cash.

To be fair they weren’t pushy and the car was a good price.

Finance and the extras is where the dealer - and certainly the sales person - makes their money.

Replaced lower control arm on the R231 SL. Write up to follow......

Nice that you took the SLK for a holiday, but you didn't make her pull that caravan, did you ?
Lol...hopefully not as SLK's are not even type approved for tow bar fitment...let done actually towing anything....

Definitely not but to be fair she got quite a bit in the boot (try telling the wife to pack lightly) Fabulous little car🙂
I did see the other day a E63 with a towbar and just thought why

Driving along I got the ESP defective and other alerts related to the brakes. So I turned into a side street and called the RAC at 4:20pm. Unfortunately they were very busy and it took nearly 6 hours to get me home which was under 2 miles away.
So it's now time to call up an indy and find out if it is the dreaded SBC pump or something a bit less expensive that needs fixing. With only 86k on the clock I'm hoping it is not the former.

Yesterday, had a nice drive up to Suffolk for no.1 sons birthday. Stopped for supplies at the supermarket en route and was complimented on the car. It's amazing how much a small comment can make you feel 😁

:D
That would boggle the Focus boy racers.....blown in the weeds by a Bailey Alicanto twin wheel.
i once saw a fully-loaded ML 63 AMG towing a twin axle caravan, and it out-dragged an Alpina D3 from a slow roll up to the NSL on a fast dual carriageway.

Sorry to hear that it took so long to get you home, hope you get it sorted.

Should add, eight litres of oil is quite frankly a ridiculous amount. Some nifty swapping of the catch can required mid way 😬
