Sounds wonderfulTook it on a drive to Glasgow & back with Mrs Ant beside me. Beautiful sunny blue sky day and a lovely lunch on the way home. Car was as fab and enjoyable as our C Class estate if not more so.
All in all a great day. Almost forgot it’s Tuesday.![]()
OK, OK - who did not pray hard enough? Failed on (of all things) horn plus an advisory on a rear tyre. At least the horn it is not an expensive job and is within my limited mechanikking skill set! (and yes, checked the fuse!)S204 - Passed! Three advisories (the ball joint was replaced less than a year ago - like most places the gutter side of the road I have to use most is akin to a cart track, so not surprised it is on it's way out again!) Pretty sure both rear tyres were replaced in the last year, so will need to look into that a bit more
Just the Kia to go tomorrow. Thanks for all your prayers - again the Power of the Forum!
- Nearside Front Lower Suspension arm ball joint has slight play rear arm advise replacing (5.3.4 (a) (i))
- Nearside Rear Tyre slightly damaged/cracking or perishing deep splits in inner wall advise replacing (5.2.3 (d) (ii))
- Offside Rear Tyre slightly damaged/cracking or perishing deep splits in inner wall advise replacing (5.2.3 (d) (ii))
Took a look at the horn (managed to remove it myself!) and a neighbour helped me test it - yup, was dead. He is pretty car wise (he has a lovely Wolseley 1500 in mint condition - replaced a Chevvy 67! Also has an Royal Enfield 350 Bullet!) and just happened to have a horn in his Box'O'bits! Needed a tough of jiggery-pokery with the wiring and now horn working!OK, OK - who did not pray hard enough? Failed on (of all things) horn plus an advisory on a rear tyre. At least the horn it is not an expensive job and is within my limited mechanikking skill set! (and yes, checked the fuse!)
Reckon I'd get away with this?:

Shame. Can we have some more pics before it goes? Love the colourIt's hard to say, but this morning, while walking the dog, I decided I'm going to sell my lovely SEC to someone who really loves them as much as I do. It's sad, but I have to do what's sensible, not just what I want.
Proof that it's absolutely worth polishing a white car.Took my car to work today for the first time and introduced it to my underground car park, and parked in the EV charging bays as no one uses them
A slow puncture has appeared on the passenger rear tyre which is hard to spot with the eyeball test due to the low profile tyres… a great drive nonetheless.
It's one of the reasons I hate going to the tip; this has happened to me more than once.Loaded the S204 with rubbish from a shed clearout and headed to the local refuse tip.
Managed to drive over a screw which is about 10mm from the wall of the tyre.
Local tyre places didn't have a replacement Falken in the size I wanted so a part worn has been fitted and I've ordered a Falken for fitting next week.
Expensive tip run![]()
My man maths are doing just the same in my head with a pair of exhaust tips.My rather expensive but very nice alloy flappy gear shift paddles arrived this morning from MB Newcastle. Earth lead off with steering wheel positioned so I can get at the T20's and remove the air bag to fit them. Man maths required to justify the £246.00![]()
