Drove it to the open farm day at Goodwood...where my son snapped these under a nice sky...

And then drove it to Maidenhead Aquatics to pic up supplies for my fish....where he took this one. He played with this one a bit as we drove home... like there were about a dozen other cars there!...ain't tech clever!

Finally finished the C220 CDI built/restoration.

Eibach coilovers/Sachs struts, New AMGs 18s (refurbished)fitted, C32 AMG back box on, tow bar removed... And more importantly gearbox issues gone!

'Fess up. That's not the same car is it?
Great job 👏

Drove the E400 down MBS

Parts delay on door lock and resolving the electronic activation means it's down there tonight and I'll be just over £500 less well endowed tomorrow.

It is the only fault I've had with it in just over 3 years (apart from maintenance, mods and a replacement wing mirror after a too close a shave with a passing car), so it could be worse.

Suppose I'll have to just take the SLK to work tomorrow......

The S212 was pressed into duty today to collect this:

I should stress it’s not our box (Not a fan of F&B)

Anyway, it contains a hedgehog. We have a good population here and see at least 4 a night as we feed them each day. We’ve re-homed a few so far.

The only issue really is that what goes in comes out. And their poop is like Araldite. 😳

Is there a Point, to this. 🦔😉🙂👍

Felt the C180 wasn't running very smoothly and had an EML with cylinder misfire code. so decided to do a plug change and check the cam magnet plugs for leaks while I was in there.

Tools needed, An E8 Torx socket, long reach 16mm spark plug socket, decent socket set, electrical spray, copper grease clean cloths.
Took around an hour to do all 4 as some were extremely tight. The electrodes on cylinders 1~& 2 were nearly burnt away. No wonder it was running rough.
A small amound of oil had leaked into the plugs leading from the cam magnets but fortunately, the pig tail extensions I fitted stopped any oil wicking up the loom. I'll get a couple of new cam magnets and fit them shortly so when it does go up for sale in the next couple of months, it will have everything done to it including an oil/filter change and air filter.

A few photos of the work done and notice those electrodes in the two photos of the old plugs!
All the coil packs exposed #1 at the bottom by the oil filler cap.

Look at that gap and the state of the electrode.

#2 removed and you can see the top of the plug

#4 ready for new plug

4 very worn plugs.

Car runs very smoothly now, no hesitation at all. A job worth doing for around £50

Here she is. Now ensconced in her house in the garden - we’ll let her out when it’s dark. She’s been tagged so if she goes to a rescue again they can track her. Yellow tags on the spines contain her serial number. Yellow for girls, white for boys.

Fitted new EGR valve...two bolts, one electrical plug and one small coolant hose....job done in about 15 minutes...most of which was cleaning the mounting surface for the new gasket. Took it for a half hour run...no issues or EML so far! Seems to be more responsive to the throttle and definitely changes down quicker.
Got a new exhaust gas pressure sensor due too as I've had two warnings on the icarsoft over the 9 months I've owned her (but no EML).so its only a matter of time until it goes kaput!

Go aftermarket...Mercedes themselves dont make any of those parts. If you want as close as possible look at the brand on the parts you took off if you can see them and use parts from them. If not just stick to big brand names. Buying from MB just relieves you of extra cash... nothing else.

indeed, you are wise £370 from Mercedes and delivery next Monday and £175 from GSF/Eurocp available tomorrow.

I wont use Autodoc after a couple of disastrous purchases but others seem to like them....but they are well priced.....but coming from Berlin means you need to allow a week plus for delivery....no good if you are in a hurry or the car is off the road.
