What vehicle Money no object???

Homers pimp mobile?

An AMG E55 estate would be our choice - 2 adults, 2 kids, 2 dogs and no need for any off road capabilities

i reckon i'm about to get abuse but there is no way it can be a merc. A money no object car would need an interior fit for a king....my choice would therefore be a tour bus, with pool, cinema etc....and two sl65 engines strapped together to make a 1200bhp 24 cyl 4 turbo beast of a bus.

nah, just because money is no object doesn't mean you have to be ostentatious.

If money was no object I'd have no need to advertise how wealthy I was - Personally I'd go for understated :)

A very difficult question! One car for all purposes money no object. Hmm.

First instincts are for huge self indulgence but hang on, need to cater for self, wife, two children who are tall (for all intents and purposes the size of adults), two large dogs and luggage. So pure spend level is not the test

Then I need something that can cope with unmade muddy roads on a regular basis, some off road use as well as piling on motorway miles plus trips to the Alps. So a big 4x4 and to hell with the anti brigade.

Has to be reliable and not electronically fragile so needs real locking diffs and not trickery with the brakes. What is the most reliable 4x4? A Toyota methinks.

So what do they think in the US, the spiritual home of the SUV?

Well the Land Cruiser is a bit on the gianagerous side for the UK so that is decided: Lexus LX470!

But they do not sell a Lexus LX 470 in the UK. It is branded as a Toyota Land Cruiser LC.

Damn, I already have one! Only enhancement would be having a V8 engine and all the toys including a rear mounted TV so you can see what you are about to hit.

i reckon that is a plausible argument if you are really wealthy...but if you are really in the posistion of money being no hinderence at all i reckon ostentatious is the way forward...just ask the Sultan!

Tho i may just buy a football club instead!

A Brabus G-Wagen...

Imagine being at the lights next to a 911 and beating it in a 4x4 :)

What an excellent response. I've allowed Janners quarter million pound nomination and Fangio's nice choice because both were mass produced, but unfortunately a 'black ball' is hovering over that very nice Maybach coupe project as it is not in mass production???

I have been trying to think of the best available estate car, and am open to suggestions. I don't like the styling of the new Audi, or BMW. Jaguar just don't come into the equation.

I am at present leaning towards an E-class, and money no object would clearly allow me to buy the E55AMG, what a dream machine, but..... wife would be the only driver and I would worry myself silly. She is however an excellent but very law abiding person and would not use it in a manner it deserved

Is there a nicer estate car? R-class hasn't arrived yet so doesn't count. The Viano Brabus falls into the E-class explanation, but there is not much room behind the rear seats for our pooch. (If it is similar to the V-class)

I am off to the Brabus site to read the performance figures on the Viano.

Excellent choice of cars.

John

Having been in one, it's got to be a CL65 AMG! The other option of course, money being no object, something like this:

If the Maserati Quattroporte had somewhere for the dogs to sit that would be the hearts choice. But they don't.

!

Having driven a quattroporte at Millbrook this year I have to agree. I would never have thought of it before but it is such a capable quiet Ferrari in disguise!!

I only need two seats and remember, money is no object; if it breaks down or rusts I'll buy another one. :D

It's quite quick :)

I would run it with just the front seats, and caging in the rear (that's how my Sharan is set up as the dogs sleep in the vehicle at shows ... not in my caravan!). But I'm sure there'd be plenty of room in the back of the Vito (oops, I mean Viano ;)) if you left the middle row of seats in.

Only thing it lacks for me is 4WD, not sure how good the traction would be with 1500 kg of caravan on the back on wet grass!

I love the quattroporte. It is about the only car that I would give my SL up for (if I could afford it.......). I am expecting its value 2nd hand to drop like a stone so give it a couple of years...........

Rolls Royce Phantom in Metallic Black all over, with deep burgundy red interior

Wife and 3 kids, therefore it would have to be an E55 estate. Would go for a Cayenne Turbo but it is just too ugly.
