Only thing it lacks for me is 4WD, not sure how good the traction would be with 1500 kg of caravan on the back on wet grass!

IYou can only choose ONE car. If you are married (have a partner) and have children, then is a two seat super car suitable? The answer for this thread is NO that vehicle would not be suitable. :o

but Pammy...... you cannot cheat. One car per family. No saying your daughter has now got a car and so has your husband!!!

Nope - a two seater SLR is still enough - coz they can walk :D :D :D

But accepting that I still have a 12 year old and two mutts so I have to have the fully versatile brute to cope with us all in family mode - I think we'd stick with a Voyager tbh. Ours has been fantastic and the build quality etc is great.

Failing that - in MB mode - I guess an ML AMG would do

I think it nice that you have a vehicle you are very happy with. I am in the same position. The E55AMG estate is a brilliant vehicle, but option wise it offers exactly the same creature comforts as our own car.

How does the Voyager compare to the Espace or the Viano?

This thread is certainly showing some really nice cars.

Don't think the R class has removable seats, so I'll have to stick with the Brabus Viano :)

Phantom for me - just like this

This will take me to work, the family to waitrose, and the family to Monaco in the Summer.

Looks less like a van inside and out ;) looks and drives more like a car than a big bus ;) we are very happy with it :D

Was having a conversation with a mate the other night about winning £27 million on the lottery and he mentioned he would buy an Enzo - but wouldn't like to take it to Tesco's in case it got damaged. I said if I won £27 million i'd be flying my helicopter to Harrods, not driving to Tesco's

You'll still be going to work? Money no object, i'll fulfill my lifelong ambition and retire early to see the world.. choice of car, and colour is awesome though :D

I saw a picture of J Leno sat in the experimental Rolls Royce convertible :) :) The car looked hugeeee (Ginormous even) and you could just see the little head behing the steeering wheel. :D

It just looked simply out of proportion. I am not impressed with the design of the Phantom at all. It is however complying with the modern lines of a front designed like a barn door!!! (slight exaggeration) The old frontage on Rolls Royce are far more 'barn like' but they are in keeping with the design and are........ Rolls Royce!

SEM, there's a Bentley GT that colour that drives around Cobham (near the Chelsea training ground), with what looks like a footballer's wife behind the wheel. The only problem is the wheels are painted the same colour as the body, and it looks truly revolting.

Red Wheels oooh no...... but if you going to make a statement make it big and bright.... but not pink like Jordan

Single, 20 yrs old,... all my hair and no-one to take up valuable car space :P No shopping to do (hey, Im a college student, shopping for me is buying stuff online and having it delivered ... and even then its mostly pot noodles)

I would go with a classic Ferrari Testarossa. No the fastest, nor the speediest, but by far the best :D

Kleeman engined CL65 without any of the Kleeman styling bits.

Its a painful truth but.....

I am fortunate to be in the position of being able to buy what I want, which means I waste my money on several MBs. But if I had to just have one car, it would have to be the C320 estate. Its the only car which can actually carry the dog, the family, parents in law, misc purchases (ok, not all of these at the same time) and give a comfortable touring ride and small enough to get around town easily and fling along country lanes.
The fancy cars with low profile tyres and exotic engines are great fun for a day but living with them is a pain. Even Ferraris spend so much time having their services done you need another car to get by with even if you never carry anything but your lover!
Sad but true. Moral of the story - buy lots of cars ! :D

Very nice well thought out post, the choice has to be a practical everyday user car and that does restrict things. I can understand the choice of CL, but our neighbour has a very nice Bentley Arnage, it is only used on long journeys, a mini convertible is the everyday runabout.

In all fairness anyone that can afford a very large modern car, can usually afford a second more practical vehicle, but that is making things far to easy. Just nominate the biggest, powerfullest, most expensive and bob's your uncle. What I am interested in is the practibility, and suitability of an everyday choice.

What is interesting is the number of members that have stated they own their ideal car. I can fully relate to that consider myself very fortunate, but I always look at what is just around the corner :o R-class??

If money was no object I might be tempted to rip out all the bits of a nice 124 estate (including what is under the bonnet)? and put everything from my vehicle into it. That would be a car that I would never get rid of.

Oh well back to looking at the pictures.... off to look at the Testarossa.

But you can only keep one vehicle, the e-class or the van! So which is it? :)
