wheel bearing adjustment w202

just a quickie ,do you need to remove brake caliper on front wheel to simply adjust the wheel bearing or tighten it up ?

I was told by my mechanic mine were adjustable but that's if you've got a w203

I wouldn't imagine so, I've never needed to do that on other Merc's etc. Just tighten the nut until it starts to lock the hub up & then slacken the nut (possibly less that a 1/4 turn) till the hub is free again. Then grab the hub and make sure there's no free play. Job done usually.
