Wheel Bearings & Camber Adjustment W202

Ok then, managed a quick look under the car and some piccies of the front suspension lower arm pivot bolts.
Anyone recognise these bits?
I'm expecting that this is un-adjustable and I'll be forking out £44 on bolts on Saturday (a bl**dy rip-off if you ask me!). Anyone know if you can just swap these from under the car or do I have to have all the springs/dampers removed first?

Cheers, Chris

There not adjustable... You don't have to remove any of the suspension but there's extreme pressure on the wishbone so it's not wise to do this yourself, additionally once you install the adjusters the angles will be wrong so the car should be on the Geo rig really.

Hi,
My local MB dealer (Pentagon in Southampton), said i could return them for a refund if they were,nt wanted.
The bolts are only required if the Camber or Castor needs adjusting.
If only the camber on one wheel is out you will only need one bolt, if the camber and castor is out on both sides is the only time you will need four bolts, you may not need any at all.

I recon I'll need them to bring the camber in slightly so my 18"s fit, also the tyre wear is slightly more on the outer edges of the tyres (0.5mm less tread)
Thanks again for the replies, I'll stick a photo of the bolts on here for future reference.

How do these work then?
The two washers are identical, I've just put one upsidedown to show both sides.
The raised part of the washer doesn't quite fit in the recess on the back-side although it almost feels like it should.

So.. how do these fit to the car? What orientation do I put the washers? Is the flat on the washer significant? What does the groove do in the bolt?

Cheers, Chris

The washer tabs insert into the V groves in the frame of the car, then the bolt passes through and is trapped by the other V.
Each bolt provides 3mm or 30secs of deviation from the centre position in whichever direction you install it.

i.e. It pushes the bush either in or out depending on installation.

Check your castor bushes for splits. Use a lever bar and lever them firmly to one side.

I see many split castor bushes and this can cause wondering and scrubbing on lock. I run 19"s and my castor bushes are new and I get no scrubbing on lock.

It will be pointless to get a wheel alignment done if these or other bushes are worn.

So, put the car in my local garage to get the correction kit fitted.
And it wasn't :(
Bloke from the garage said the bolts/washers alone aren't enough and that I'd need new bushes etc to suit. Does this mean I need item 71 as per the picture? (A 202 330 00 75)
If so any ideas on cost?

My local garage isn't an MB specialist but they are 'good eggs', they have worked on my other cars and I'd always put the work their way but I'm beginning to wonder if I'd be better off biting the bullet (£110/hr  ) and taking it to MB to get it done to reduce the hassles.

I'm going to measure the wings in the daylight tomorrow/Saturday to make sure they aren't different.....

Any comments appreciated.
Cheers, Chris

I've got the same size alloys as you but for some reason my car is crap in a straight line if met by bad road, still cant figure out how to fix it.

This might be due to whats known as tramlining... i have it all the time on the motorway if i used the inside lane where the trucks have generally worn a groove into the road, it happens on surface change and also can get a bit of bump steer (due to running silly low that was)
