Wheel Options - What would you Choose?

Bear in mind that refurb costs on splitties is considerably higher ( if you ever need them done ) ...

I'm not a great fan of split rims. I see the reason on track cars but how often does one change offsets on a road car? Seems an expensive look to me.

The older twin spokes like these were a w203 option , not the newer ( 63 ) ones ...

A set of these in 17 would look geat on your car.

Couldn't agree more!

Split rims would ruin the look. I really do not like them, they look overly flash, like some types of cheap jewellery. Dash’s idea of going with a darker silver would look very smart indeed AND would tend to hide the dreaded dust better I would have thought.

Any chance of getting them up on your car using that software of yours??

Actually, while you are about it would it be too much to ask to prepare an image with these on a Sportline 124 Cabriolet? J J
Years ago when I started looking for one I remember seeing an ex Singapore car with those, or very similar, wheels and they looked very smart indeed.

All the best with it,

W.

Front looks too proud IMHO, I think the spokes could be set into the rim a little more, then they'd be near perfect - a bit more like the rear I guess.

Volvo did a very nice set of wheels for their 244 GLT in the 80's (I think) I remember thinking then how smart they looked. Loved the 244 GLT too & still do!

Those are the ones Howard! I think they really suit the car almost perfectly.

I'm a big beleiver that MB spends huge amounts of money designing wheels for certain models of car to look good.

Very very rarely indeed does putting a later model wheel on an earlier model car look good ...

Can't go wrong with the C32 wheels as they were designed to make the 203 look its best.

The front ones aren't proud at all , that picture makes them look it granted .

Make sure you get a staggered set , nothing worse than a car sitting on the same size all round.

There is a CLK round my way with presumably copies of the C63 gunmetal grey thin twin spokes , and it just looks terrible ....

Makes me cringe inwardly everytime i see it . Like watching an episode of The Office ...

They were offered as an option from MB on the CLK (at least in the '07 AMG catalogue)

Not on the 208's i'm afraid.

Not seen a 209 with 63 wheels as standard.

Of those listed: AMG III Sterling Silver

As Howard and others suggested AMG IV in either 17" (C32) or 18" (C55/E55) fitment would look best. A stunning wheel and in the original finish (not refurbed) they look even better!!

From 05/05, so that's a 209?

These wheels are not the same as those fitted to the C63. The centre boss area is different. Those for the 204 series have no metal in the area between the spokes. Very similar though.

Here's my 2p worth...

Stick with the originals! In my opinion they are the nicer looking wheels for your car (from your original list), but I will side with Howard and say that the twin-spoke AMGs he advocates would look rather nice too. :)

The rest, however...

The originals are spot on but I want something different for the summer and the originals will go for refurb and then be fitted with winter tyres.

I really like the AMG IV twin spokes as well, again an option on my car, so very 'correct'.
