I'm after some alloy wheels for my c200 (w) not so sure what other model wheels will fit, found some w124 e class (94m) on e-bay tyre 185/65/r15 7j,
but handbook sizes slightly diff!
so any help would be appreciated,
not too hot on all the models etc as 1st time MB owner
regards
Chris

225/55/16's are a good place to start. The ones you specified in your post are rather narrow and small in diameter. Some members here have awesome wheels on their chariots. Do a search on alloy wheels and look in the members gallery for some ideas. BTW welcome to the forum :bannana:

Thanks for that, prob not thinking about the actual tyre as that can be changed, thinking more about which wheels will slot straight on with no mod's needed?

Standard fitment to the C-class is 195/65 R15. You can safely go up a size if you drop a profile on the same rims. For example you could goto 205/60 R15 on 15" rims. The size recommended for the 16" rims is 205/55 R16, I have been running 215/55 R16 but they are slightly too big but you could get away with it. I think 225/55 R16's would be too big, 225/50 16 maybe.

I have a set of immacualte 15" genuine alloys as per my photo below with 205/60 R15 Bridgestone Potenza RE720's. The tyres have a good 5-6 mm of tread and are an excellent tyre. The rims are spotless and have even been treated to Diamondbrite! Open to sensible offers.

Welcome to the forum.

205/55/16 is the standard tyre size for 7J 16" Rims. The usual offset is ET37

The wider 8J SLK rims (which can only be fitted to the rear axle) take 225/50/16. (ET30 offset) - to give a staggered setup - with the size mentioned above on the Front (7J - 205/55/16)

You can go up to 17" with no problem at all - e.g. Original AMG Wheels.

Some people have even fitted 18" without any problem . . . but any bigger and you are looking at bodywork modifications to make them fit.

Have a look in the members gallery for an idea of what other W202 C Class owners have fitted to their cars.

Well those are the sort of wheels etc that im after, the steel + trims just don't cut it! would consider making an offer but really have no idea as to what is near or what would be insulting!

I'm gettin a set of wheels refurbed as we speak and new tyres on Friday, I was gonna put my current set on ebay, good wheels and tyres of this size usually make between £250-£400 per set, bigger wheels alot more!

PM me if you are seiously interested. Can you see my signature photo at the moment? I can't!

Jimmy, where are you getting your wheels done mate? I'm near Daventry and 3 out of my 4 need doing. Its just the rim, the rest of each wheel is A1. Result of someone using hammer on weights.

Cheers, Greg

Hi Greg,

Could not find anybody local, Wicked Wheels are a mobile outfit but didn't like the look of their work and they charge £60 per wheel and they only paint the face of the wheel.

I took mine to BV Engineering in Hemel Hempstead, small place but looks like they do a good job and cheap too. They were recommended on here somewhere.
