Wide Body SL600

Ouch. That 65 sounded terrible, something wrong with his car for sure.

yes racing a proper one!;)

A little update, my car is currently at Infinity Exhausts near Bristol for a custom CAI and full 3" cat back.

I have some spare SL65 turbos which are going to Turbo Dynamics to get some different Billet wheels done as the tuners believe that I may be getting some blow back issues due to my current turbo wheels being too big. I will keep the bigger turbo setup and work on the manifolds to solve the problems.

It will then go back to Eurocharged to do the sl65 Black series suspension conversion, along with the lithium battery conversion and re-location and a number of other upgrades.

My passion is for circuit racing so I really want to make this car handle to its maximum potential so I have also decided to do a harness bar and Recaro sportster cs seats with 4 point race harness.

I am still looking at wheel options as I am going with 305mm front tyres so I will at least have to change the front wheels.

Jeez JK, it would have been cheaper to purchase a new SLS GT :thumb:

Yes it would but not as interesting in my eyes.

You clocked 181 at Vmax in the end. Sorry couldnt hang around after our joint run I had to scoot.

John said to us his limiter was on! :dk:

They must have mixed up my number, I was nowhere near 181. Ace your car pulled very nicely but I need another go as my brother was messing with the go pro and I totally messed that run up. I will hopefully be more prepared for Wales.

The v12 engine is about the best base I could find. I will dyno my car for tuning however I am not after the biggest BHP numbers. I am after a fast luxury cruiser which will surprise a lot of people on the track.

You certainly surprised a few JK at Vmax

Limiter :dk:

Maybe next time :thumb:

Jonh you couldn't pick a better car for the track l!!;)
Light and nimble!:D

I have a Caterham and a race prepped Mini if I want light and nimble. I also have the E46 M3 stripped and supercharged if I want the best all rounder.

When I want big and powerfull I will get in the SL. Just because the car was not designed to go quickly round a lap at SPA it doesn't mean It can't be done.

We will see, at the end of the day I am enjoying the process of trying to get the most out of the car.

You need to set yourself a finite goal you want to achieve and go for it.
At the moment you are trying everything at once, and in a small time frame. Which sadly as you are learning there are always hiccups along the way.

You have a real interesting an unique project so please keep us informed.

I understand what you are saying but the goal posts keep moving. The next goal is a trip to SPA in June and VMAX in July, the only items I am not sure will get done in time is the second set of turbos and the new wheels.

next goal it will be to make a off-road out of it!

Not sure. Paul and Andy have it at Eurocharged, they want to tackle the suspension first, then deal with the intake, intercooler tank and lithium battery replacement and relocation. Once all that is sorted the turbos need to be looked at again and tested for blowback.

I am going to get the other turbos set up so they will be ready to swap out if needed. Also cooler plugs to help things along.

I still have not decided on the wheels I am going to go for but I am going to replace mine. If anybody is interested, 5k for the wheels and tyres with only a few hundred miles on them. I paid close to 8k for the set. The wheels are great and I would have gone with them again if they made larger widths and offsets.

Thx Essel. I am hoping to get the car back for another go in a couple of weeks. I am trying to get a few issues sorted before VMAX Wales.

I will keep you guys posted once I know more about the progress that Eurocharged have made. Turbo Dynamics are making up the second set of Turbos now using a set of sl65 turbos.
