Will A LHD Passengers Seat Fit Into A RHD W124 Cabriolet?

You will need to use the pump from the donor car - it will drive both your central locking and the seats . You can swap the pump from your car back into the donor car to run the central locking if the donor car is not breaking for spares . Your car won't have the reservoir as that is only for the ortho seats .

Thank you very much for your advice here Pontoneer.

Will put up a post as to how I get on if this goes ahead. Looks like I have to buy the Coupe though and swap the seats over, but like you say I would like (if not have to) keep my electrics. It may take a little while to go through the process.

Once again thank you & best regards, W.

Remind us what's wrong with your own seat. What does "severely messed with" actually mean? Maybe you could put up a couple of pictures.

Buying a car to get one seat seems to be a really complicated, expensive & risky way to fix the seat you already have.

Right O Neil, you asked so I going to do my best to explain, but before I do I'd like to thank you very much for your offer of your seat, still may need this.

My seat has a shortened base cover depth wise, has no horse hair in the chair at all - been removed, has had metal wires (about 450 mm long in a U shape X2) removed, has a back rest that does not sit square to the base, the base spring box is sagging, a lumbar support mechanism from an A8 has been installed, the switch for the lumbar support meant that they cut out a section of the fabric/plastic based seal that fits between the seat and the console, this seal now rubs against the console and makes the whole console squeak – right up to the dash!, the seat backs now rub against the rear seat to accommodate my height – it never did before because the thickness of the seat back has been increased to fit the A8 lumbar, the seat back squeaks loudly in unison with the console (squeaking in stereo surroundsound for free!), previously I had no squeaks at all in fact it was deafly silent at 100 km/hour thanks to Krytox, they broke the plastic anchor bolt cover trims, put a small crease in my console, the seat base has a metallic spring creaking sound (percussion to the upper register console and seat back symphony) when turning left and the seat is not comfortable.
I am 6’6” tall and need a seat that can be adjusted in the back to accommodate a much longer back than normal so I figured I’d like an orthopaedic seat.

Now; if you can suggest a better way forward than purchasing a car, (which may be an early AMG car) with everything my seats have except heated seats but are orthopaedic ON BOTH SIDES then please let me know. I can fit my covers with the heaters in them so I can keep my covers which match the rest of my car perfectly. All the above problems can be solved with a genuine MB fitted out car in good nick with the SAME COLOUR SCHEME inside. I have priced the horse hair pads, a cover, a spring box and you know what; that equals half the price of the car. So I got to thinking better get this car ay!!!!

What do you reckon?

Regards to all, W :)

Sorry about the grammar and context etc, it is a bit of a shocker but it will have to do with the time I have.
