Thing that should not go on or in a car ...after seeing a old Toyota today that looked like it had been driven thought halfords I thought I would start this thread ,the car had every badge ,strip you can think of and more even white wall tires ...so number one thing that should not go on a car...
For anyone who has a late nineties car that is prone to automatic transmission oil finding it's way up the wires to the TCU and the footwell, this is the best explanation of how to fix it by changing the connector on the gearbox. I have now done this and it was quite easy.
Note however; if...
Went out for a sunday newspaper, road was wet, came round a corner under full control in the sl55 amg and floored it a little to agressively. ESP took over and cut the revs. Now the interesting bit.
Rev counter went mad for about half a second (I guess because the drive was taken away from it by...
I have had my W124 E220 for about a year and thinking about changing, probably for a W126.
I assume there is a huge difference in running costs and general maintenance?
Also having had a look at W124 prices, they seem to be all over the place so no idea what to price it at? It's a 1995...
I just had a C250CDI Coupe courtesy car for a week which was near enough identical to mine, even down to the colour :)
The only difference was the automatic transmission instead of the manual one I have in my own car. Since I bought the car, I have always wondered if I had done the right...
So... it got it's latest update (8.02?) recently and that came with a new and useful predictive text format whereby it would suggest several words on a line above the keys. For some reason that has suddenly reverted to the older 'one word in a box' format. Any ideas how to get the new format...
I bought a C180 estate at the weekend. All seems good though the boot rattles. I don't want it to rattle any more.
Anyway, I could be wrong, but it appears there's a plastic cover thingy missing off the right hand side of the boot latch.
Here is a picture...
See what I mean. On...
.... it's another!
One of the pulleys bearings went last week so Paul @ EC sorted me out a new pair. Fitted and touch wood with a new Continental supercharger belt fitted today. Hopefully that's enough of belt shredding.
New map uploaded and logging underway. Great spin out for 60 miles...
what I thought was the pulley wheel making a noise, I think is actually this round boxy tubey thing..
Anyone know
A: What is it?
B: What does it do?
C: is it user-serviceable to give it a clean? (In case it's got crud in there)
thank you :-)
In my C220CDi W204 it has the parking thing where you go past a space and it indicates it will be feasible.
What I don't get is whether my system is faulty or it is just a bit c r a p! Obviously, like most, I can park, but I had a vague idea it might be of use for A N Other driver of the...
Last weekend I went for a GTG on the other forum at The Haynes museum in Sparkford...
After the meetup I stayed overnight at a certain Mr developers house..
The following morning he accidentally had a page open on his laptop..
He not so subtly kept dropping hints and put temptation my way..
I...
I am going to get stick for this, but I wanted to recount a silly avoidable incident that happened this morning.
So I have had the wannabe traffic light grand prix boys in their hot hatches wanting a race and always denied them that pleasure. My licence is too valuable, but this morning I came...
and no it's not footie related.
Alongside working in the office I run a vineyard and I was daft enough to take on the chairmanship of the national trade association for vineyards. Through the post comes an invite to a Garden Party as we have a royal patron, Mrs aBecketts is in new dress...
I know it all boils down to personal taste but, when looking at an older vehicle (C43 estate) what would be the general opinion of going for limo dark tint to rear windows with a slight tint to front..?
In two minds at present, thinking about future resale and whether it could be a positive...
Steerings is wobbly going around bends and has vibration at 70 mph. Got car on ramps and mechanic showed me left wheel was bit loose when he moved it manually. Tracking problem he said and also left tire had severe outer wear
If I took the car to National tyres for example to get the...
So, my C126 has this removable rubber molded seal-strip type thing.
It clips to the plastic front vent tray/scuttle area thing, and the seal edge pressed against the bottom of the windshield glass. I assume its designed to stop dirt and stuff from running down the windshield and making its way...
