I think the mid 70's mercs used a fluid flywheel in place of a torque converter and pulled away in second as first was too low except on hills or for towing. Do the latter versions use a fluid flywheel...

Hello I am renewing the oil pan, seal and filter on my w124 E220- 1995 Auto Box.
Can anyone tell me the settings to torque down the bolts as I have heard that over - tightening can warp the pan and cause leaks.
Is my understanding correct?

Can anybody tell me the correct torque settings for mounting the w126 front brake discs onto the carriers?
If it makes a difference, my car is a 1986 500SEL with the 300mm discs.

Had my 2003 270CdI estate for a few years now but it looks as if I have the dreaded glycol problem - droning noise between 1400rpm & 2000rpm, juddering, hard gear changes etc etc.
