Hi Matt, I adjusted the idle using idle control valve. Then only time I got it to run smooth with CO in correct range was with the revs at 1500!!

Adjusting the nut on the throttle cable might be a good idea!! Didn't think about that. Have CO machine so may have a play on the weekend and see what I can do.

Cheers
Sam

Hey grober
I had wondered about that. Haven't got tools for compression check but I when I took plugs out last weekend all plugs were heavily covered in black soot with the exception of no1 which looked New still (nb all the plugs have done less than 1000 miles), also I noticed that plug 1 is the only that tightens up much quicker and earlier when I'm screwing it back in than the others! I assumed the black soot was from my mechanic setting the CO to 5% but I don't know.

I wondered about the head gasket as I briefly switched to 5w40 full synth to see if it would quieten noisy lifter but instead developed an oil leak under the intake manifold, using a mirror it looks like it's coming from the join between cyl Head and bottom end but I have no oil in coolant no mayonase in cap Or any where else.

Nb 10w40 back in now, to early to tell if burning oil but exhaust clear no blue smoke at any time. Oil leak under intake manifold looks like it's still going!!

My ICV completely died the morning after cleaning. I wouldn't assume it's working 100% because it's been cleaned - is there a way to bench test them someone?

I second getting a compression test. Tell them to write the numbers down.

HI horatio, will connect icv to 12v via battery and see if it clicks but when I was adjusting the CO and Adjusting the ICV via the cogs of seemed to be working, never heard it click though.

Will get onto the compression test, anyone have a link for a compatible kit from e.g. Amazon or eBay or should I just go for a generic kit?

Have you got a MAF...?

Hi wdb no maf no lambda no cat
