1995 w210 avantgarde e300d - what controls the indicators??

I had an intermittent problem with my indicator, now it doesn't work at all?? ive replaced the whole stalk but still doesn't work?? ive looked all over and cant find what mite control it?? found a relay module in the ecu box does this control it?? no fuses blown etc etc
