2002 MB CLK 230 Kompressor
Hey everybody,
I have a simple question to anyone who knows the answer.
My car is a CLK 230 Kompressor 2002. I'm looking for the low pressure side of the air con system for a refill. I have got the high pressure one at the front and found another what looks smaller (though the plastic cap has the same icon on).
Just to make this easier to tell I attached some pictures about.
So the question is only:

Is that valve is the low pressure one for air con refill?

Thanks for help,
Gary

Hi, You will have to take it to a garage and they will know which is which, this is something you can't do yourself so they will put you right.

Thanks, but we are not on the same opinion about this.

Hi,

The high side nozzle is a bit bigger and your refill kit nozzle won't fit on it. The one there looks like a lowside nozzle, so put the gauge on it with the engine running and air con on and see if you get your expected low pressure, then top it up in short bursts, stopping every few seconds as you can't read the pressure while filling. Don't overfill, once it's got good pressure (in the green), it won't get any colder, you'll just risk popping your system if it's already got light corrosion somewhere.

Thanks i-CONICA! I'll give it a try but considered the post above might roll in to a garage like Kwik-Fit to a quick refill. The cost would be the same more or less.

I take it that you are wanting to re-gas it yourself?

Not sure why you would bother when a professional re-gas is around £50.

DIY kits cannot draw out under vacuum, test the vacuum and weigh the gas in the system, do not allow for an accurate re-filling nor do they add the correct amount of oil.
