2002 W168 A210 - Chrome exterior trim

To anyone else who has an A210, I've noticed mine has chrome trim other A210's dont. There are rings that go around the headights and tail lights, and the scoop of the door handles are chromed too. Were these an optional extra from MB or tacky aftermarket stuff?

Aw man. I don't know how to get the door handle scoop covers off, they're pretty flat to the surface, not like a foam pad sticking them on. The headlight and tail light ones look like they're just glued on.
