Hi All

Wanted some advice, went to a MB dealer for something (unrelated to below) and as part of a healthcheck they advised that my E250 (diesel) has a fuel leak, I asked where this was and they said it was under the bonnet.

I'm not getting any fuel smells or any drops under the car (maybe fuel is evaporating?), they said if I lift the engine cover I should be able to smell it.

For now they (for no cost) have "tightened" the pipe, whatever that means, has anyone got any suggestions that I can verify myself there is a issue before I go ahead and get it fixed? I plan on opening the cover later on today to have a look but not sure what I'm looking for..

Many thanks

My only guess would be the fuel filter which is in the engine compartment. Did they not specify where the leak was coming from of offer to fix it?

They did offer to fix but were not very specific about where the leak was, just mentioned under the cover, just wanted to verify there is a fault myself before I get them to fix.

Another case of a customer quite rightly not trusting a dealer. Shame really, as so many people think dealers give the best service. Why not use a trusted, reliable Indy

Cannot see anything obvious wrong, any ideas which areas I should focus on in the below?

The only thing i can see is the injector wiring for no.3 injector has been nibbled at by the looks of it! I'd check the black rubber spill hose that runs between all injectors for more nibbles and leaks. It's surprising how much I see this on the 651 engines.
I'd also treat yourself to some vermin traps too!
