I want to get different wheels for my car. The wheels that are on currently are disgusting and i want them changed.

So... Anybody care to suggest ? or even offer a set of wheels that would suit, fit and look wicked on a 208 CLK 55?

Im interested in the AMG Aeros.. Carlsson's... Brabus etc..

Anyone good at photoshop? :D

No. I wont say what they are because i would never put them on a car like that.. They were put on by a dealer.

I just want a nice set of wheels! :)

Why won't you say what they are ?

What wheels do you have ?

Wolfrace? TSW? Speedline?

Are they a reputable manufacturer? Are they staggered fitment?
Come on, someone might even be interested in taking them off your hands.

*cough* Wolfrace.. *cough*

Put on by a dealer.

18" Black wheels, red lip.. They were £850 odd £'s at the time.. I've hated them since i got the car..

Now any suggestions for some new ones?

Hi

I woudnt include Speedline on that list...he he!

A very famous Mercedes wheel was manufactured by Speedline

We've got a set of 18 inch BBS splitties on the blue car and a spare set of 19 inch BBS's for it too ...

The ride on the 19's is bone shakingly bad , so much so , that we never put them on.

18's are bearable , but the 55 AMG came with the wheels i linked to from the factory.

Brabus ones are nice.. Id like to see what they look like on my car though.. Hence the photoshop question.

I've seen them on other CLK's and they look good.. Just want to be sure.

Really? so best not to go for 19's then? 18's seem like the best option..

I know.. I just think 17's look abit too small ? :dk::dk:

Hi,

Out of curiosity, what's the maximum tyre profile you can fit on a 18" and 19"
before you start getting rubbing issues?

IMHO the original staggered width CLK55 AMG wheels suit the car, and offer the best compromise between performance and comfort. Especially for UK roads and driving in London ;)

Bonus also being that the tyres are cheaper, just over £500 for a full set, whereas 18s and above will start getting expensive - £700+

IMHO of course :)

They do suit it.. But i just dont want them.. I agree they are good looking wheels and they will obviously be cheaper with tires etc.. But i just dont want them.

Just changed my tires today.. £600 for 4 Goodyears.

Fair enough.

Sounds silly, but why didn't you change your wheels before spending out £600 for new tyres on the wolfrace ones, if you don't like them?

Surely now your best option would be to find replacement wheels that can utilise the tyres that you have just bought (what sizes are they?)

Spur of the moment.

I had some free time.. So got my tires checked, turned out both of the tires on the back had big cracks in the walls in the backsides of the tires.
There only 4 Months old!

Guy said i was lucky!

Changed them on the spot.. Wasn't planning it at all.

Have a look on Alloy Wheels Direct and I'm sure you will find a set you like.
