As it says. I must have changed the fuel filter six times since I got the car. Same procedure every time. Pre-fill new filter. Pull off clips and fit new filter. Never had starting probs before but now it takes a few cranks before it fires.

Once it's running you wouldn't know anything was wrong.

Any ideas please? :dk:

Sounds weird.

You would expect any issue to be only on the first few cranks until the system has purged any air.

Is it drawing in air into the fuel lines and creating a replicatible problem ?

Knowing your attention to detail, I would think this unlikely ....

Could it be an underlying fault with a fuel pump ?

Also check the o ring on the filter fittings, they quite often get overlooked and wear with age.

Slept on the problem. It can only be the fuel pipes letting air in somewhere. There are no O rings on the 211 filter just push-on pipes with clips.

Possibly a fault with the new filter allowing air to be drawn in at one of the seams?

Can you put the old filter back and see if the problem remains?
