211 E320CDI Mapped!

Were in the birmingham area can do a celtic map?

I just think that you should enjoy the car as standard for a while and then remap it later so that it feels like an appreciable step up.
Also, I'm not convinced about the potential reliability of a 320cdi with a remap.
The OM642 V6 isn't always the most reliable engine and a remap might exacerbate this.
If you have it remapped early on and it breaks something, you would need to pay a lot of money to get it working again.
If you remap it after you've had it for a while and it breaks, just sell it and get something new.

What problems have you had with this engine ?

Both of mine are mapped with 120k between them. Nothing wrong apart from regular maintenance and obvious 320cdi issues.
Nothing pointing at the fact they've been mapped.

I've not had any problems at all with my own engine, It's done 58000 miles of which I've done about 6000 since i got it in May. I'm just a bit wary because of the horror stories. Turbochargers, timing chains, 7g tronic problems etc.

All manufacturers have horror stories with their products,
MB are no different with the exception that they cost a lot more than most others do
and still let you down the same way.
