5 Years of Waiting...

Karl the skirts look great. Amazing whaT you can achieve just with an aerosol......and lots of hard graft. well done mate!

Nice job was it worth the wait for them i think it was she looks great

Yeah, have thought about that, but I doubt the cost of it all, plus the gearbox, loom and fitting would be ££££'s

Your gearbox is fine. But a new loom, the lump and fitting could be a few ££££.

It's looking great Karl. Congratulations. :): thumb:

Bit of a knightmare getting the clips to remain attached while fitting, they keep dropping off in the gap of the skirt :wallbash:

Clips and fittings from MB: £70 total!
Wow! I think the clips etc I supplied you back in the day came to about £20, and I think we're talking about the SAME clips.

All looks great now the sideskirts are on!

Looking good. Surely some brake/suspension upgrades would be required if putting in a bigger engine though - not as straightforward as the C43 > C55 conversions.

The C43 skirt uses different clips and plugs underneath the car HWA part numbers  slightly more expensive aswell :(

Still, better than using velcro! (C36)

Might even need to get hole of somthing like that anyway as the rear wheelarch area isnt sitting flush and is annoying me :D

I'm so inspired by this thread that I'm gonna test fit my WALD kit this weekend. W210 mirrors already fitted to my car, but alas declared as SORN so wont be seen at an GTGs until next year.

Sorry to hijack your thread Karl. Well done with the install so far mate :thumb:

While you're at it the rear bumper looks like it's drooping a bit!

Only by a few mm's! - C43 rear bumpers are notorious for the unevenness of the top.

Thanks!

Busy night tonight, the 2nd wing refitted, and the 2nd side fitted. :bannana::bannana::bannana:

Did take loads of photos for a HOWTO, but I think ive missed some steps due to getting my hands covered in Dynax S50...

Now what do I do? for the 1st time ever, I dont really know what other mods to do :(

All looks good Karl. Well done !

How about some 210 mirrors with indicators in them as the next mod ? or a 43 two colour interior ?

well done Karl - looks great...and a great jobs with the aerosols.

Thanks!

Not that bothered with the interior to be honest, I think I will settle for a pair of folding 744 W210 mirrors though!

Are yours all wired up now NW_Merc?

Yes the 210 mirrors really finish it off.

Thanks!

Yep, got them from german ebay. Had to remove the wiring harness from my old mirrors and then soldered on the pins to allow the mirrors to be heated. The only job left to do is to get some male crimp connectors and wires to connect the indicator bits to the correct wiring in the footwells and then they're good to go. My car is SORN at the mo' luckily so can take my time with all the mods that I need to do.

There was a pair of folding mirrors on ebay quite recently, but in purple or Violane (??). I assume they will be listed again. They were going for £120 last time I looked. Mine were non-folding and black covers originally which were sprayed white by a bodyshop for a very reasonable price.

I have done both of these mods, fitting electric/heated interior in my Pre facelift 230k, and the 210 mirrors (my drivers side mirror is dimming as well), if you want any info let me know.
Not sure if electrics 'scare' you (it does with a lot of people), don,t be put off, indeed i think the mirrors were the most difficult 'electrically', the interior was a doddle TBH, just a bit time consuming.
