55k cooling upgrade

All looks good Ginger.

I am very interested in this and discussed the exact same thing with Olly maybe using my car as the test car earlier this year. Trouble is I use my car most days so your car has clearly proved an easier option for him.

I spoke with Olly last week to see how it was progressing and he said it is currently being tested so I am very interested to see the final results. I have the EC HE fitted to my car along with a Bosch 10 pump so a split system will be the next step.

It looks a nicely made tank and will look the part under the bonnet and to me would be the ideal solution. I'm guessing the tank is somewhat smaller than the boot mounted ones (it would be good to see comparison testing against a boot mounted tank) but I don't really fancy a boot mounted tank as I use all the space.

I'm ordering a data logger this week so it will be interesting to see what temps my car is currently running.

Good luck with the rest of the install - I wish you hadn't posted this up as now rather than just occasionally thinking about it I really want it!!!!

If you have an andriod device Torque app is pretty good, £5 for the pro version, £15 for the bluetooth dongle, so not much to outlay to get the readings from the obd2 port.

looking great. Thats now top of my christmas list

Cracking thread.

I'd also be interested to see how this mod stacks up against the more simplistic reservoir split cooling mod that some of the guys in the US have done.

It would be good to define what the critical points are with regard to power output and ambient temperature that these types of mods are most effective. For example if you were to stay stock then would this type of mod be worthwhile and what would the benefits be? Or, if you had say a pulley and remap, then what would the advantages be etc etc.

Will keep an eye on this thread as it progresses and could make a good sticky...

Jules.

If it works well I suspect an increase in power on a standard car. Cooler intake = more ponies.

We can RR it after the box is fitted and then after a re-map and pulley. (If MrGinger55 wants one ;) )

And I was thinking of leaving it stock:D however:devil: will have to think up some other reason for SWMBO to believe its being serviced again!!!!

Again great thread...will be reading it with interest:thumb:

Torque is brilliant. Logging speeded up a bit with the last update too.

Re post #4 - great idea :)

A note on the Torque app, the cheap bluetooth readers can be very slow in refresh rate.

Looking forward to progress :)

I have an iphone and ipad so have just ordered the wifi version of 'PLX kiwi 2' device which connects into the OBDII port. I'm then going to get the dash command app. As I understand it it should give me all the live data I need.

Its ended up a much more expensive route, but is meant to be good.

When all the kit arrives I will give it a go and post up the charts as it will be interesting to compare mine with yours as it is now as my car has the smaller super charger pulley and EC map.

Tank fitted and up and running. So far so good.

Had tank temps today of under 10degrees!

2 weeks ago temps peaked at 103c.

Looking forward to data logging.

Maybe next upgrade Fixed Supercharger Pulley, but would need a better way of monitoring IAT's, as there is no safeguard from the ECU if it gets hot.

Is there a way to display IAT's on the instrument cluster??

Maybe the FSP from Eurocharged is a bit aggressive, early reports are it turns the car into a monster tyre shredder.
