AMG brake calipers - apparently for W202 and W203 as well as a host of others....

Are they not the Sport Pack calipers (usually have Mercedes Benz in white lettering)?

Would fit with no modifications??!!

You would need bigger discs and bigger wheels surely

Agreed you would need new rotors, caliper carriers, and upgrade wheels to at least an 18" if they are true AMG calipers.

I suspect they are either 'ordinary' calipers with amg decal on, or else they would need mods. They are not the sport edition calipers as they are 6-pot

I have the Sport Pack calipers and they are 4 pot.

Incidental the W203 Sport Pack calipers have the same part number as W203 AMG calipers but a dif ES code, presumably this signifies whether AMG or Mercedes Benz lettering

What I would call "true" AMG brakes (as fitted to C55 etc) are bigger still and are 6 pot. Totally different caliper shell more skeletal

Those are likely C32 AMG brakes and will require new discs and other oddments, as posted by tudu. You'd only need 17" rims though as that's what came on the C32.

Thanks, my mistake! :o

Just checked my calipers and those on ebay are nothing like them, so not Sport Pack.

Interesting, just checked on EPC and the part# for my calipers is the same as for a C55 AMG. Yet mine are nothing like those on tudu's car, his are what I would call "true" AMG calipers...

CORRECTION - They are not the same :o Cant read my own writing! Doh! :o :o

What's more the C55 AMG calipers are £100 cheaper than mine!

Bearing in mind that historically "true" AMG brakes on the smaller models are simply big, but non-AMG brakes from another model. IIRC the W210 E55 brakes were essentially SL500 brakes, they were just ordinary grey calipers with no mention of AMG on them.

If the sport ones are 4 pot, are the standards just 2pot?

Also, these are not very local- £50 p&p!
Would be interested for the B-class, but carriers, pads, hoses & discs will add up to a lot.

btw, do the redstuff/greenstuff pads actually produce less dust (or is it just a nicer colour??)- saw this referred to in one of the threads?

Cooler than an iceberg in a -80C freezer :D

For information, I have looked at the (non AMG)sport brakes I have obtained(awaiting fitting next week) with the cross drilled 330mm discs:
The calipers have no part number on, only marking is Mercedes white on grey lettering, '330' on the rear and a small symbol which I believe is the brembo symbol on the rear.
These calipers are only 2 piston, although at first glance the external shape suggests more!
Both the existing C & B-class calipers f & r are only 1 piston each!

As to fitting them, I actually obtained the whole leg from each of the front sides, so unsure whether to go for replacing whole leg (shock, coil, bearing/hub & brakes), just the brakes & hub, or just the brakes, as I think all of these options will be as simple as each other. The donor car was an 07. Someone mentioned that the coil/shock may be individually adjusted to the donor car, so may not suit mine, but unsure how much difference that will make?
Any suggestions/advice welcomed
Thanks, Matt

indeed my W210 E55 calipers just had a merc symbol on them, but they were all but covered by the wheels anyway, also in my opinion they stopped better than the brakes on my W220 S430 which are 4 pots not sliders, but there are many factors that can affect that, I think that the W210 was from a different era when their cars didnt shout about what they did, they just did it, now people want badges on their cars so other people know how much they spent, hense wheels that show lots of brakes and calipers, it has nothing to do with cooling, you would be suprised how few holes you need in a wheel to cool the brakes,

Hi anyone know where I can get either a overhaul kit -pistons & seals for a 03 C32 AMG original ATE callipers or replacement ATE ? Thanks & new to Forum so maybe some help with this
Thanks
